FlightScope Launch Monitors: Mevo Gen2, Mevo+ and X3C
FlightScope launch monitors are built on the company’s Doppler radar tracking, and the newer models add high-speed optics in what FlightScope calls Fusion Tracking. The home range is the Mevo Gen2 ($1,299) and the Mevo+ ($1,099 on sale, from $2,299), with the X3C ($13,495) for coaches and fitters. FlightScope’s core data has no subscription, and the Mevo Gen2 includes eight E6 Connect courses that you own outright. This guide covers the company, each model, data parameters, upgrades, room setup, simulator packages and prices.
Every fact on this page comes from FlightScope’s own website (flightscope.com), checked on 4 October 2026. Prices are FlightScope’s US store prices at the time. Sources are listed at the end.

About FlightScope
FlightScope develops and manufactures 3D Doppler ball-tracking monitors, golf radars and launch monitors. Henri Johnson founded the company in 1989 to measure projectiles for the defence industry, and FlightScope still works in defence in more than 24 countries. After nearly two decades of Doppler and phased-array radar experience, it moved into sport. It now tracks golf (27 ball and club parameters), baseball pitching and hitting, and cricket, where it says it is the only company that measures bowling speed. In 2008 it moved its headquarters to Orlando, Florida. Its golf products are used by instructors, club fitters, tour players and equipment manufacturers.

Mevo Gen2
FlightScope’s newest Mevo uses patented Fusion Tracking, combining Doppler radar with high-speed optics, and FlightScope says its 20 parameters are captured, not calculated. Key points:
- Full-swing data: carry, roll and total distance; ball and club speed; smash factor; vertical and horizontal launch; spin rate and spin axis; apex height; flight time; lateral landing; angle of attack; spin loft; shot type and dispersion.
- Putting data: launch speed, total distance and ball direction.
- No subscription: all core data, firmware updates and software fixes are free.
- Courses: you own eight E6 Connect courses (iOS and PC): Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course, Torrey Pines South, Kapalua Plantation, Valderrama, Sea Island Seaside, Pelican Hill, Chateau Whistler and Latrobe Country Club.
- Simulation software: works with E6 Connect, Awesome Golf (PC and iOS) and GSPro (PC).
- Video: a built-in camera, plus your phone, records and clips swing video with data overlays in the FS Golf app. FS Multicam adds more angles.
- Connection: it creates its own Wi-Fi network, so no internet is needed.
- Training: swing speed training without hitting a ball, PGA and LPGA challenges, long drive and range competitions.
- Size: 6.9 × 1.2 × 5.6 in, 17.6 oz.
- In the box: carry case, power supply, USB-C cable, quickstart guide and 100 aluminium stickers. The FS Golf Practice app (iOS, Android, PC) and FS Skills Challenges app are free.
FlightScope says independent testing by Carl’s Place and GolfBusters found the Mevo Gen2 within 1% of the Foresight GCQuad and Trackman 4.
Mevo+
The Mevo+ is FlightScope’s earlier radar launch monitor. Its data parameters stay free with no subscription, and the Pro Package adds more than 20 more, including the full D-Plane dataset. It comes with a power adapter, USB cable, 100 metallic stickers, a carry case and a 12-course iOS E6 Connect licence: Pebble Beach, the Old Course at St Andrews, Bethpage Black, Bay Hill, Harbour Town, The Belfry, Banff Springs, Panther Lake, Wade Hampton, Oslo Golf Club, The Greenbrier and Aviara. FlightScope notes the Mevo Gen2 has longer battery life (up to 6 hours against 3) and USB-C charging.
X3C
The X3C is FlightScope’s professional unit. It uses Fusion Tracking, includes face impact location as standard (which needs at least 300 lux of light around the hitting area), extends its feet and levels itself automatically on start-up, and runs its own Wi-Fi hotspot. Connecting your own software is limited to approved systems integrators.
Upgrades and Software
| Upgrade | Price (one-time) | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Pro Package | $699 (was $1,000) | On the Mevo Gen2, 11 advanced parameters including club path, face angle, swing planes and low point |
| Face Impact Location | $350 (was $499) | Where the ball meets the clubface |
| Pro Package + Face Impact Location | $975 | Both |
| E6 Connect 12-course bundle (iOS and PC) | $250 | Adds the 12 premium courses to a Mevo Gen2 |
FlightScope also sells E6 Connect annual plans (Basic with 39 courses at $300, Expanded with 90+ at $600), an 8-course E6 bundle ($100), the Badger AI coaching subscription and SHIELD protection plans.
Room Setup
For the Mevo Gen2, FlightScope advises:
- Place the unit about 8 ft directly behind the ball, in line with the target (7–9 ft sensor to tee).
- Indoors, allow at least 8 ft of ball flight. For accurate spin with limited flight, use aluminium stickers or Titleist RCT balls.
- For putting, set the unit 5 ft behind the ball with at least 8 ft of flat roll.
- Keep fluorescent lights, fans, air-conditioning, heavy machinery, large metal objects and TVs or computers in front of the unit away, as they can interfere with readings.
For indoor full swings, the Mevo+ needs 7–9 ft from sensor to tee with about 13 ft of ball flight recommended. The X3C needs 8–10 ft behind the tee and at least 8 ft of ball flight.
